Production Marketing Representatives will focus a larger amount of time on direct production of profitable business through their underwriting activities with selected agents while maintaining a productive marketing territory. Goals for both the individual’s underwriting activity and marketing responsibility will reflect a higher level of production. Superior time management and organization is required of this individual to successfully accomplish those goals.
Territory: The territory will be the state of Idaho preferably residing in the Boise area.
Marketing duties: generate production from the assigned territory by promoting products, developing existing agencies, creating agency goals and planning, agency management, prospecting and appointing new agencies.
Underwriting duties: Use field underwriting authority to write profitable commercial business while maintaining underwriting discipline. Underwrite and fully process new business submissions from quote to final issuance of new policy including settling any “subject to” quote requirements and any post-issue items such as loss control reports and motor vehicle record review. Meet or exceed new business submission, quotation, and production goals for assigned agents.
•Four year college degree required. A CPCU, CIC or AU designation preferred plus a minimum (5) years of marketing/underwriting experience.
•Minimum five years Marketing and Commercial Underwriting experience along with field underwriting experience required. Underwriting experience must include success in writing larger, more sophisticated, commercial accounts and handling high volume commercial agencies.
•Knowledge of insurance, underwriting, rating coverage and contracts, written and oral communication skills, human relations skills, general knowledge of other department functions such as personal lines, loss control, surety, claims and customer and agent accounting.
•Sales experience preferred.
