    The Facilities Management intern will gain insight and knowledge of day-to-day interactions with clients on solving space and move requests, ensuring accuracy of occupancy data and supporting the strategic campus plan.  This person will have the opportunity to work in AutoCAD, and be exposed to all facets of Facilities Management including space planning, construction project management, operations and maintenance, safety and security.

    The schedule is from 8:00AM – 4:30PM Monday - Friday during the summer months of 2019.

    Responsibilities

    • Scenario planning & option development
    • Monitoring day-to-day space utilization
    • Detailed move planning of all group moves
    • Assist Project Manager
    • Furniture requests
    • Signage
    • Conduct periodic occupancy audits to ensure information pertaining to department locations, individuals and configuration of spaces are accurate and up to date in CAFM system
    • Assist in ergonomic evaluations
    • Exposure to badge access system and CCTV
    • Attend construction project meetings, update project schedule
    • Establish basic knowledge of MEP systems
    • Gain knowledge of RFP process and vendor management

    Qualifications

    • Currently studying Construction Management, Facility Planning, Architecture or Interior Design
    • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to successfully multitask and able to adjust tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities
    • Organized, independent and self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail-oriented
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills to maintain positive internal and external relationships
    • Proficient in AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Adobe, CAFM
