    UFG is looking for a Senior Line Analyst to join our team in Corporate Underwriting.

    Responsibilities


    • Review, evaluate and file rates and rules for assigned lines of business, using actuarial techniques.

    • Review, evaluate and file forms using knowledge of the legal and coverage concepts of insurance.

    • Create and maintain company exception pages.

    • Conduct an annual rate review.

    • Identify and communicate premium and loss trends.

    • Train and mentor junior analysts and support staff.

    • Assist with vendor analysis, rating organization affiliations, research into new state/federal government statutes/regulations, pricing analytics, underwriting metrics, market-conduct exam responses and other special projects.

    • Provide expertise and/or project management when requested for growth initiatives and bureau line changes.

    Qualifications


    • Four year college degree or, equivalent work experience and insurance education/designations.

    • Applicable work experiences in legal, statistical, or financial fields or also includes positions such as underwriter, claims adjuster, marketing representative or agency producer.

    • Accuracy and attention to detail.

    • Good math ability including basic statistics.

    • Knowledge of property and casualty, surety and/or life & annuity insurance coverages and rating rules.

    • Proficient with Excel and/or, other data and statistical applications.

    • Effective communication skills with an emphasis on information transfer.

    • Excellent organizational skills, including managing multiple priorities.

    • Problem solving and reasoning skills.

    • Ability to working under deadlines.

    • Ability to work individually and within a team

    • Understanding of loss ratio, loss development and actuarial concepts.

    • Knowledge of the legal aspects of insurance products is required for policy form development.
