    At United Fire Group (UFG), our commitment is to assist our independent agents and brokers in growing their businesses by offering competitive products and excellent after sale support.  This position will be working remotely in TX, LA, and MS. It requires heavy travel and reports to our Gulf Coast Branch in Webster, TX. The Marketing Production Rep is dedicated to our Small Business Pro-Series business. 


    As a critical key member of our front-line team your contributions will have a direct impact on that commitment.  Your marketing duties will include generating profitable production from selected agencies, as well as prospecting and appointing new small business agencies. You will work closely with our Small Business Unit to develop a profitable book of business across the region. 


    • Demonstrate strong people skills, communication skills, and negotiation skills
    • Become proficient with our paperless commercial rating and processing systems
    • Project a good company image and communicate what United Fire Group is looking for in an agency
    • Gather information on competitors and analyze
    • The position will frequently involve irregular and extended working hours.  Overnight travel is required.  The use of a company vehicle will require an acceptable driving record


    Must possess:

    • Four year college degree strongly desired
    • At least five years marketing and/or underwriting experience with a property and casualty insurance company
    • Conceptual knowledge of underwriting, claims, loss control, premium audit and accounting functions


    Preferred to also have:

    • Additional educational achievement, related to insurance, is highly preferred.  Examples would be CPCU, CIC, etc.
