This position will handle casualty claims in Missouri and Arkansas. The ideal candidate could be located in our corporate office in Cedar Rapids, IA or work remotely.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Investigate, through correspondence or telephone, assigned large exposure liability and complex coverage claims.
  • Examine policy forms to verify coverage, interview claimants or witnesses, obtain police or hospital reports, appraisals and all other information pertinent to the claim, analyze, evaluate, negotiate and settle claims.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience in handling casualty claims to function properly in position.
  • Currently hold an AIC, SCLA or Legal Principles, CCLA and PCLA of the AEI series, or in progress and to be completed in 3 years.
  • Meet the appropriate state licensing laws required to handle “multi-line” claims.
  • Must have a working knowledge of high exposure casualty claims, policy interpretation and duty to defend
  • Experience dealing with attorneys
  • Experience with construction defect and a strong understanding of the litigation process.
