UFG is looking to add an Associate Business Analyst to the team. The Associaet Business Analyst will gather and analyze the business requirements with an emphasis on small to medium-scale projects, then translate them into detailed Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for the programmers and developers. Assist Project Managers and Business Analysts with large-scale projects. Review and analyze rating analyst filings and notes to identify system changes needed to implement new rules and regulations. Manage and organize daily support activities through resolution; including Help Desk Issues and System Maintenance tasks. Must have a strong understanding of the application software, so generally will be assigned to a specific business area or application.

  • Keep current in new technologies
  • Provide system maintenance
  • Manage, monitor and resolve daily Help Desk Issues

 

Qualifications

 

  • Four-year college degree preferred and/or 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in writing detailed software requirements for small to medium size projects.
  • Demonstrated success in resolving production issues and providing post implementation support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with business leaders, project team members, vendors, application developers and programmers.
  • Certified or working towards a Business Analyst or Project Management certification. Certifications include CCBA and CBAP from International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or PMP and CAPM from Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Insurance coursework or designations in the following areas are desirable: General Insurance, Associate in Personal Insurance, Associate in Commercial Underwriting, Associate in Automation Information Technology, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter or any of the Life Office Management Association (LOMA) classes or designations.
  • Thorough knowledge of business analyst principles and practices.
  • Understanding of our corporate strategies and the operational issues of our business units.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many disciplines and with varying degrees of business and technical experience.
  • Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing, to diverse groups of people.
  • Strong team work, facilitation, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility including ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.
  • Technical background sufficient to understand the issues involved with our automation projects, and be able to anticipate and identify technical obstacles and make good decisions.
