The facilities director will direct the operations of the maintenance and office services functions of UFG. The facilities director is responsible for the strategic planning, direction and management of activities related to the maintenance, improvement and planning of UFGs facilities across all locations.





  • Directly and indirectly manage up to 20+ employees in maintenance and office services
  • Develop and assign short and long term goals and objectives, monitor performance, identify areas of improvement, develop plans and programs that will enhance the operation of UFG’s maintenance and office services functions
  • Responsible for the management of improvement and major repair projects from planning, pre-design, design, bidding/negotiation, construction, and other.
  • Responsible for the development and maintaining of facility management program which includes property plans, budgets, scopes, schedules and spending projections.
  • Prepares individual project management plans that include scope, schedule, budget and variance tracking systems and ensure successful project completion and occupancy of operational functions.
  • Regularly evaluates project goals, identifies opportunities and constraints, and analyzes life-cycle cost considerations and possible alternatives as required.
  • Assists with short/long-term planning and budgeting for facility improvements in collaboration with company leadership.
  • Develops thorough RFPs, obtains proposals and negotiates fees from consulting professionals and/or develops design requirements and specifications for bidding.
  • Provides project and construction management services during construction phase of projects. Monitor progress and quality of construction through regular meetings with designers and contractor.
  • Effectively manage changes and costs, ensuring work is completed in accordance with contract documents, managing unforeseen/unusual conditions and documenting outcomes to validate cost and schedule changes. Establishes substantial completion and follows up with completion of punch list items to close out project with warranties and guarantees.
  • Keep informed of new developments and trends in Facilities and makes recommendations for implementation
  • Assist the maintenance operations of UFG properties including the preventive maintenance, proactive repair, and reactive maintenance issues as they occur
  • Partner and assist maintenance team in implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure standards are maintained and the program is executed according to schedule.
  • Assist office services and supply to develop and maintain cost effective procurement and materials management of printed forms, office supplies, building maintenance supplies, various furniture and office equipment.
  • Partner with enterprise risk management committee for Business Continuity Planning and disaster recovery for critical incidents or disruptive events.
  • Oversee all US Mail services and develop procedures to ensure that practical, efficient and cost effective programs are in place. Maintain all required mailing permits & PO Boxes for organization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and building codes, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and EPA state and local regulations.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned





  • 7+ years of management experience in the operation of a facilities and/or maintenance team(s)
  • 7+ years of work experience managing construction projects
  • Strong project management skills to maintain project scope, budget, quality and timelines
  • Knowledge of laws, ordinances, county permitting process, rules and regulations relative to labor and construction
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge of facilities and maintenance operations
  • Ability to review and interpret design and construction documents (drawings and specifications)
  • Demonstrated organizational, administrative, leadership and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to create Requests for Proposal, review and standardize bids, insure vendor performance for positive budget and execution outcomes.
