UFG is seeking a software support specialist to Install, configure, maintains and troubleshoots open systems server components of basic to moderate complexity. Some mainframe experience on Unisys Libra series systems would be helpful. Open systems include Windows servers and workstations, Microsoft SQL, Exchange, IIS and Office software, Skype for Business, Citrix and various insurance and accounting software packages. Supports internal and external users. Provides documentation and management reporting.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assemble, configure, test and install hardware components
  • Recommend, test, configure and install software
  • Performs software upgrades as patches are released and tested to keep production software at currently supported levels
  • Keep up-to-date on new technologies via vendor demos, workshops, magazine articles, etc
  • Develops documentation and procedures to restore application in the event of a disaster
  • Handle trouble tickets as assigned by the Help Desk
  • User common sense/courtesy guidelines to keep users and Help Desk personnel updated on problem resolution status

 

Qualifications

 

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, information technology or related technical field

  • 1+ years of basic to intermediate level software support work experience

  • Understanding of basic networking concepts.

  • Familiarity with Citrix NetScaler components.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

  • See relationships and visualize data flows within the organization.

  • Work under strict time constraints.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Audio visual equipment maintenance including Polycom.

  • Remote user support experience
