UFG is looking to add an Infrustructure Team Lead to our growing Information Technology department.

 

Serving as a working supervisor, the team lead supervises the day-to-day operations of the infrastructure team and also provides consultative support of hardware, virtualization, networking, and phone, including testing, installation, and maintenance. The team lead has significant responsibility in the growth and mentoring of system and network administrators and must possess strong leadership skills and be able to motivate and develop team members. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and supervise system administration and networking team
  • Evaluate new project requests and help desk tickets.

  • Select and assign a support specialist based on project priority, required skills, availability and current workload.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams.
  • Lead and participate in hardware and software installation and upgrades
  • Inventory Management and capacity planning
  • Develop and maintain standards and procedures.
  • Maintain timely status reports
  • Continually seek process improvement
  • Contribute to Disaster Recovery effort

 

Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Four-year college degree in computer science, information technology or other related technical field or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of advanced level Server and Networking hardware and software administration experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many disciplines with varying degree of business and technical experience. 
  • Ability to be self-directed and to take initiative in defining and completing project deliverables.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to provide direction, motivation and feedback to employees; achieve project objectives through the work of others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to describe complex, highly-technical issues using simple, clear and precise language.
  • Excellent analytical skills; strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • General management skills necessary for planning, organizing and prioritizing workloads.
  • Adaptability and flexibility including ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.  
  • Knowledge of the Insurance industry and/or insurance industry coursework preferred
  • Employees are expected to actively participate in insurance classes, technical coursework or in-house training programs throughout their careers.
  • Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation and/or Associate in Information Technology Designation (AIT) is preferred.

  • 3 years of work experience in a technical leadership role is preferred
