JOB SUMMARY: As a customer service representative you will be working with an awarded Top Workplace. In this highly visible position, you will make a big impact within the Surety Team by being responsible for the accurate data entry of decision-making statistical information and computing premiums. Your primary goal is to produce high quality technical assistance to our principals, agents and coworkers and show what it means to provide the best in customer service.   The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST.

Responsibilities

  • Promote excellent service and growth. Workflow organization, team communication, facilitating and attending meetings. Regular communication to Department Head, Managers, Supervisors and Team Members.
  • Assist the underwriters in information gathering and correspondence with the agents. Decide which files to refer back to the underwriter for review.
  • Customer service/public relations. Handle routine telephone inquiries, respond to agent’s requests, and answer billing questions. Initiate contacts with agency to obtain additional information as required for underwriting decisions.
  • Processing or distributing of daily incoming mail tasks per guidelines.
  • Entry of statistical information and computing of premiums for the issuance of bonds.
  • Enter data from financial statements; work on hand reports and job tracking into computer to be analyzed.
  • New account entry, special projects, maintenance of bond files and faxes.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Must have:
    • Good organizational and decision making skills
    • Possess strong analytical and math skills
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Accurate computer and typing skills are essential.
    • Respond and adapt quickly to change and multiple priorities
    • Be able to work within a team environment, exhibit cooperation, and have strong communication skills
    • Proven skills in providing quality customer service and promote a positive and professional image in and outside the Company

 

  • Preferred to have:
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the surety or insurance industry

Education Requirements:

  • Must have:
    • A High School Degree
  • Committed to continuing education; surety classes and course work (AFSB 151, 152, 153), and other internal training classes and course work. Additional classes maybe required. Preferred to have:
  • Two or four-year college degree or equivalent work experience
