Production Marketing Representatives will focus a larger amount of time on direct production of profitable business  through their underwriting activities with selected agents while maintaining a productive marketing territory than would a Production Underwriter.  Goals for both the individual’s underwriting activity and marketing responsibility will reflect a higher level of production.  Superior time management and organization is required of this individual to successfully accomplish those goals. The ideal candidate for this position would be located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.


Depending on the qualifications of the candidate, this position may be filled at a Senior Production Marketing Representative level.


Job responsibilities require a split of time between marketing duties and production underwriting duties.   The amount of time dedicated to each function will be dependent on the particular territory assignment.


Marketing duties; generate profitable production from the assigned territory by promoting products and services to existing agencies, assist in answering questions and solving problems for our agents and prospecting and appointing new agencies. 


Production Underwriter duties; underwriting large commercial accounts for assigned agencies as the new business field underwriter for key agents.  Use field underwriting authority to write profitable commercial business while maintaining underwriting discipline.  


Underwrite and fully process new business submissions from quote to final issuance of new policy including any “subject to” requirements and any post-issue items such as loss control reports and motor vehicle record review.  Meet or exceed new business submission, quotation, and production goals for assigned agents.


  • Four (4) year college degree, CPCU, CIC or AU preferred 
  • Minimum four years Marketing and Commercial Underwriting experience, field underwriting experience desired. 
  • Sales experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of insurance, underwriting, rating coverage and contracts, written and oral communication skills, human relations skills, general knowledge of other department functions such as personal lines, loss control, surety, claims and customer and agent accounting.
